In the Community: Ride to Unite
Last weekend at the Gateway Cup in St. Louis, Hilton Clarke and Laura Brown represented the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team at Delta Gamma’s Ride to Unite annual event. This event is a special one to the team because we have participated in the event for the last several years and it’s always great to come back to a race and see familiar faces.
Delta Gamma is a local organization that serves the needs of young children with visual impairments and blindness.
Laura Brown commented after the event, “I participated in the Ride to Unite hosted by the Delta Gamma Center for Children and it was inspiring to meet and ride with people of all ages and abilities. Two things struck me. One was riding alongside individuals that are visually impaired or otherwise unable to ride, out enjoying the freedom and mobility that a bike can provide. And two, meeting 9-year old Sam who has a goal to become a professional bike racer. It was fun to see him everyday thereafter at the Gateway Cup races and hear how his race went. I hope I can take part in the Ride to Unite next year!”
