Press Release: Momentum Sports Group names Jonathan Potter Creative Content and Media Director
Team also adds Clara Beard as Media and Content Coordinator
1 December 2016 – Oakland, CA: Momentum Sports Group, owners and operators of the UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team, have named Jonathan Potter to the position of Creative Content and Media Director. Potter will head up the Public and Media relations team, creative content development, and digital media production.
“We are excited to have Potter in his expanded role,” said Momentum Sports Group President Thierry Attias. “He has been instrumental behind the scenes with both the website and our social media projects for years, and we couldn’t be happier to have him at the helm of our communications efforts in 2017.”
“I’ve seen the team change over the years, from hugely successful criterium killers, to the addition of the women’s program, and now this year we are refining the squad in a very strategic way. I’m really thrilled to have the opportunity to be on the ground, helping to tell the team’s story, as we embark on an exciting year of racing,” Potter remarked about his new role. “I’ve been working in the outdoor and cycling industry for well over a decade and I’m really proud to be taking this next step.”
Potter has been with Momentum Sports Group and UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling since 2012 when he came on board as Website Content Manager; since then he has also managed the team’s social media channels and contributed to video content production. Potter has worked with clients ranging from outdoor industry manufacturers to artists and journalists, helping them develop their brands and create strategic communications solutions to meet audiences in engaging ways.
The 2017 season will also see the addition of Clara Beard to the Momentum Sports Group team. Beard will assist Potter as the Creative Content and Media Coordinator. After retiring from professional cycling, Beard turned her efforts to print and web journalism as well as handling social media for major domestic races such as Tour of the Gila, Cascade Classic, and North Star Grand Prix. Beard is also an instrumental part of Tour Tracker, a mobile and web-based application that provides live coverage of some of the largest ProTour and UCI races on the calendar.
