Race Wrap-up Report, Tour of Oman
AL SAWADI BEACH, Oman (February 19, 2017) – UnitedHealthCare Pro Cycling had yet another consistent team performance this past week at the Tour of Oman (2.HC), with powerhouse Sebastian Haedo nabbing fifth place on the opening stage. The Argentinian also finished just outside the top 10 in the overall competition after six days of challenging racing.
The second stage saw Janier Acevedo finish eighth among some of the best climbers in the world.
“It’s the second race of the season for most of the riders and is good to see they are getting more comfortable on racing as a team especially with new faces,” UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team Director Sebastian Alexandre said. “Some good confidence is built already. Our leaders know that they are close to great results so they will keep training hard and focus on getting where they want to be. The domestiques know the leaders are good riders, so that gives motivation to work for them. Our young ones are experiencing how the job needs to be done. So overall, it was a good, positive week.”
