Tvetcov 3rd on Queen Stage at Tour de Beauce
It was a difficult day at the Tour de Beauce, the combination of weather and parcours made for an exciting and trying day for the boys in blue. After an early break went away at 40km, the stage was set for the Tanner Putt and Daniel Eaton to control the race and keep the breakaway within sight. At the base of the climb the break away was captured thanks to additional efforts from Jonny Clarke to bring them back.
As the peloton shattered heading up the climb an attack from Jack Burke (Jelly-Belly) caused reaction from the reduced front group. Burke was away and never lost time until he crossed the line for the win. Serghei Tvetcov reacted quickly to Burke’s attack and put in a big effort in the final kilometer, coming in 3rd on the day.
Tvetcov is showing to be in excellent form after his win at the Tour of Korea and has his sights set on tomorrow’s time trial. He now sits 53 seconds off the leader, 3rd overall on General Classification.
Tomorrow is a good chance for Serghei to show what he has in the time trial, he put in a big effort in the final meters today and is showing that he can handle the pressure of success.
Tomorrow’s stage 3 is a 19.4km timed stage starting and finishing in Chalet des Loisirs.
